Q: Can I volunteer for events?
A: Yes. It is very important that we have 2-3 volunteers at every event. Because we need more help in running these events, we have also created an opportunity to donate to the SLICJGA and we hope to employ a college student to assist us in the 2015 season.

Q: How do I find out information about each event?
A: Each golf event will be posted on the SLICJGA golf website. Updates will also be sent to each eligible club and asked to be included in their e-mails, newsletters, and postings in the pro shop.

Q: How old do you have to be to participate?
A: Children at member clubs between the ages of 9 to 18, as of June 1st can participate. The June 1st date also serves as our age break for each age division. The SLICJGA Committee will consider entry of an 8 year old into the field if they demonstrate a high level of talent and maturity that would allow them to compete successfully with 9-10-11 year old boys and girls.

Q: How are the parings and tee times determined?
A: The goal of the SLICJGA Committee is to pair players with similar abilities and scoring averages. Our purpose is to promote each player’s excitement about playing junior golf, develop their abilities and afford them the privilege to play at other area country clubs.

Q: Can I request to have a specific pairing with another junior golfer?
A: No, requests for certain pairings are not accepted.

Q: When does registration close for each tournament?
A: Registration for each tournament will may vary but typically closes 3-4 days prior to the event or once the field reaches the specified player limit, whichever comes first.

Q: Who is eligible to play in the SLICJGA Junior events?
A: Any junior golfer from the age of 9-18 as of June 1, 2015 and is a child or grandchild of a member in good standing at an eligible St. Louis club. Players from hosting clubs will be given first chance to participate over players from eligible clubs that are not hosting.
Host clubs include: Algonquin Country Club, Bellerive Country Club, Forest Hills Country Club, Glen Echo Country Club, Greenbrier Country Club, Meadowbrook Country Club, Norwood Hills Country Club, Old Warson Country Club, Sunset Country Club, St. Louis Country Club, Westborough Country Club
Other eligible clubs include: Country Club of St. Albans, Westwood Country Club

Q: What yardages does each division play from?
A: 9 Hole Boys and Girls: 2500 - 2800 yards
18 Hole Boys and Girls: 5200 - 6000 yards

Q: I want to sign up multiple players for multiple events. How can I accomplish this?
A: Each participating player must be registered individually with a unique username, password and e-mail address. Once completed, each registered player will need to log into the website, then register for each event they would like to participate in. Upon registering, you should receive an auto reply confirming your registration as a player and for each event.

Q: If I have registered for an event, am I guaranteed entry into that event?
A: NO. When you register for an event, you are not guaranteed entry, but are placed on the pending player list for that golf outing. Final confirmation of each player's acceptance will not be confirmed until the field has met its player capacity or the entry deadline has passed. Entry in each event will be determined by the following:
- junior player is a child or grandchild of a member in good standing at their eligible club
- junior player meets the set age requirements and other qualifications for entry
- junior player's date of entry into the event
- number of juniors seeking entry into an event from each club and if they have met or exceeded the (8) player limit
- if over the (8) player limit, input from your head pro or junior golf coordinator on a fair rotation of players from one event to the next so all juniors can participate at some level
The golf committee will coordinate with the player’s club to determine final list of players confirmed for entry to each event.

Q: How many players will be accepted at each event? How many from each club?
A: Each host site will provide entry for approximately 40-60 junior golfers. Some may allow more and will be referenced on the signup page.
Each eligible host club is limited to 8 players from their club for each event. There may be instances that more than (8) junior golfers from one club would like to participate. The SLICJGA golf association will do their best to coordinate with each club head pro (or designated junior golf coordinator) a rotation of players so all qualified juniors may participate in at least one event if not more. Hosting clubs may choose to have local qualifiers for these events, too, to help determine the junior players for each event.

Q: If the maximum number of players has been met, can I be placed on a waiting list?
A: YES. There will be cancellations and on occasion, the host club may choose to expand the field to beyond the current player limit. In addition, some host clubs may not use all available player entries. If a host club has unused entries, the golf committee will extend those openings to players from other clubs.

Q: I have registered but have not received a confirmation of my registration. Is there a problem?
A: The SLICJGA is a volunteer staff and does not always have immediate access to confirming registrations. Please be patient. We will endeavor to handle all registrations requests at the earliest possible moment. If you continue to not receive confirmation, there may be a problem with your registration. Please contact us again after waiting a few days for our response.
